When the theme does not contain a feature image caption option, we can use plugins to add captions to featured images in WordPress.

FSM Custom Featured Image Caption plugin

 

First, install and activate the FSM Custom Featured Image caption plugin.

Go to plugins >> add new >> search FSM Custom Featured Image caption plugin >> install >> activate.

After activation, go to the Settings » FSM Custom Featured Image Caption page to configure the plugin.

If you want to show the featured image captions on the front page of your WordPress website, then tick the ‘Show image captions in lists’ checkbox. You can now save the changes.

The Featured Image Caption plugin easily adds and displays a caption for the featured image of a post.

First, install and activate the plugin.

Go to plugins >> add new >> search Featured Image caption plugin >> install >> activate.
