A step-wise tutorial to integrate Shopify with WordPress Quickly

Do you wish to integrate Shopify with WordPress but don’t know how to begin? Don’t worry. This easy tutorial will let you easily connect the e-commerce functionalities of Shopify with WordPress and help you grow and expand your business.

Although we can easily install a WooCommerce plugin to create an e-commerce store, incorporating Shopify with WordPress gives you the power of two potential platforms, additional flexibility, and, ultimately, more possibilities to succeed online.

So, without further ado, let’s begin and go over the simplest steps you can use to easily integrate Shopify with WordPress.

What is the purpose of using Shopify with WordPress?

WordPress is a featureful, flexible, and widely preferred CMS in the market that lets you create nearly any sort of website. It works with themes and plugins that provide you with additional features, enabling you to customize your site to match your brand.

Shopify, on the contrary, is a platform that lets you create a fully functional, feature-rich, and beautiful-looking e-commerce store that lets you sell your products online and help you grow your brand.

While there is an e-commerce plugin that lets you create an online store, many users wish to use Shopify with WordPress over WooCommerce. This allows them to take advantage of both WordPress as well as Shopify. In addition, Shopify stands out by providing features that are unavailable with WooCommerce.

For instance, WooCommerce lacks customer support, wishlist functionality, and frequent updates, and many of its add-ons and extensions require payment.

With Shopify, you are free from such concerns. By combining both platforms, you can take advantage of the flexibility of WordPress and sell products with Shopify easily.

What do you need to begin?

  • A Shopify Store
  • A WordPress Website

To get started, you’d need to have a WordPress website and a Shopify store. If you don’t have any, go create a WordPress website and a Shopify store. If you have both in place, you can jump to the next step to connect both platforms.

Easy way to integrate Shopify with WordPress

Now that you have a fully functional WordPress website as well as a Shopify store, it’s time to integrate both platforms. For this, you’d need a plugin that lets you connect your Shopify account with WordPress. So, go to your admin dashboard and look for the ShopWP plugin.

Once there, you need to install and activate the plugin on your WP site. If you are new to WP plugin installation, you can check our step-wise guide on How to install WP plugins.

After activating the plugin on your site, a new menu will be added to your admin dashboard named ShopWP Pro.

Now, navigate to ShopWP Pro >> Connect page and then click on the ‘Begin the connection process’ tab. This will launch the connection wizard.

Then, on the next page, you need to enter your domain name of myshopify.com. Once done, click on the ‘Connect your Shopify Store’ tab to move to the next step.

After that, you have to give access to your Shopify store to the ShopWP plugin. For this, click on the ‘Install App’ tab.

This will start the connection process, and you will be directed to your WordPress website. On the next screen, you can witness your site connected to your Shopify store. There, click on the ‘Continue to Next Step.

Next, you need to configure the settings for your store. Now, start with the page settings you like to use for your Shopify products.

Then, turn on the listing pages and then select a WP page or use the default product page of ShopWP. Likewise, you can turn on the individual product detail pages and collection pages.

Now, you can decide how things will appear when users click on the products. Here, you can display your products as a modal or redirect your users to Shopify or the WordPress Product detail page.

After this, you can determine how you want to show the cart. The ShopWP comes with a custom cart experience that displays the cart in a slide-in modal. If you are utilizing the single product detail pages in WP, you can turn it off.

Once you’ve customized your settings, you can click on the ‘Save and Finish Setup’ tab to exit the wizard. Then, you are required to sync your products between your Shopify store and your WordPress Website.

For this, you need to click on the Sync tab to switch to your Sync settings.

Now, click on the ‘Sync Detail pages’ and ‘Connect Auto Post-Syncing’ options. This will enable the plugin to fetch the details of your product as you add new products to your Shopify store.

And you’re done! Until now, you’ve successfully integrated your Shopify store in WordPress.

Display your Shopify products in WordPress.

The plugin ShopWP also lets you display your Shopify products on your WordPress site. If you are using the default settings, the plugin will show your Shopify products under the ShopWP Products page. Also, it lets you display your products on any post or page in WordPress by simply editing it and adding the ‘Products block.’

The Product block comes with plenty of settings such as the colors, layout, product details, and more that allow you to change the look of your products.

Likewise, it also allows you to add a ‘Single Product Block,’ allowing you to showcase an individual product.

To find a particular product that you like to show in your post or pages, you can simply type the product title in the block settings. The plugin comes with effective display options that you can control under the plugin settings or from your block settings page.

Final thoughts!

Until now, you’ve successfully connected your Shopify store with the WordPress website. Initially, it might appear daunting, but if you follow the above-mentioned steps, you can easily integrate Shopify with WordPress. Connecting these two different platforms gives you the freedom and flexibility of availing the benefits of both Shopify and WordPress and allows you to expand your business and boost sales. We hope this step-by-step tutorial has helped you integrate your Shopify store with your WordPress site and enabled you to grow and succeed successfully.
